- I design and evolve the payment core — payin, payout and balance management — that carries the company's entire transaction volume, around $3B a year across 17+ countries.
- Designed and implemented the company's first real-time monitoring and alerting system: we went from having no proactive detection to alerting on critical payment flows the moment they degrade.
- Redesigned the CI/CD pipeline and moved releases from a two-week cadence to daily deployments, shrinking every release and the risk that comes with it.
- Architected and delivered the platform's crypto integration from the ground up: system design, payment-core integration and production rollout.
- Led the migration of the payment core to an event-driven architecture on SNS/SQS, decoupling payment flows from the synchronous path.
- Own the accounting-entry (ledger) flows for payment operations, guaranteeing correct balances and reliable reconciliation.
- Built internal AI assistants on MCP endpoints and led AI-for-development training for the engineering team.
- Provide technical leadership to a team of three as the engineering organisation grew from 15 to 30 people.

- Worked on Mercado Pago's Payments Core, sustaining persistence, scalability, high availability and resilience for an application handling roughly 10K writes and 1M reads per minute.
- Reengineered payment persistence across Oracle and NoSQL key-value stores, decoupling the Payments API into Java, Spring, Hibernate, Groovy/Grails, Go (Golang) and Python microservices.
- Migrated the Webhooks APIs from a legacy Grails and Redis stack to Go (Golang) and DynamoDB using event-driven architecture.
- Designed and supported REST APIs and third-party integrations across Latin America, enabling integrators to adopt new payment capabilities.
- Owned the Ledger (accounting-entry) and reconciliation flows in the payments domain, ensuring reliable financial records and balance consistency.
- Used New Relic, Datadog, OpenSearch and JMeter to monitor performance, investigate incidents and validate system behaviour under load.
- Built and operated cloud services on AWS — EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, Kinesis and CloudFormation — alongside Docker-based delivery workflows.
